Principal Electrical Design Engineer

Our Client is a world class contender in the provision of specialised engineering, project management and construction services for oil and gas, mining, minerals processing and other industries.
 
Due to recent success they now require an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join their [Location] based engineering team.
 
Main Responsibilities:
·         Ensure the quality of output of the electrical, instrument and control (EIC) engineering and drafting teams under their control, that the output is aligned with the needs of the client, company objectives and meets regulatory requirements.
·         Ensure process design requirements are translated and implemented as practical engineering designs in the areas of instrumentation and control.
·         Ensure the technical competencies and reputation of the EIC engineering / drafting section are enhanced and developed to consistently meet the technical requirements of current and future projects and studies.
 
Requirements/ Experience:
·         Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a similar area
·         More than 15 years of post graduate experience
·         Strong technical knowledge and ability in the minerals processing engineering field.
·         Ability to manage effectively the interaction with clients on design and drafting issues.
·         Ability to consistently provide engineering designs and solutions within agreed milestone dates and to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
·         Strong leadership and an excellent command of the English language and report writing skills.
·         Ability to manage a number of design teams on one large project or on a number of smaller projects or studies.
·         Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a practical approach to engineering problems.
