Track Inspector

Fortescue Metals Group's rail network is currently the heaviest haul line in the world with 15 GE Dash-9 locomotives and 816 purpose-built ore wagons currently operating under 40 tonne axle loads. Each train of 240 ore cars can carry up to 32,950 tonnes of iron ore and is approximately 2.7 kilometres long. It is the first large-scale railway development to be undertaken in the Pilbara in more than 40 years. Our existing operation is capable of transporting up to 55 million tonnes of ore each year.
 
All our rail positions are residential in Port Hedland as we believe that in pushing ourselves and setting the highest standards, we can unlock the potential of the Pilbara and pass these benefits through to the community in which we live and work.
 
Track Inspector FIFO 2/2 ex Perth
·         Key to the inspection of FMG rail network
·         Inspect and report track deficiencies
·         Coordinate inspections with minimal track downtime
·         Manage track maintenance in a timely manner
·         Supervise contract personnel involved in track maintenance
·         Complete work inline with FMG safety procedures
·         10 years plus experience working within the rail industry
·         5 years demonstrated experience in a similar role
·         Proven experience supervising contractors required
·         Previous experience with track construction and maintenance essential
·         Cert III in track maintenance is an advantage
