Our client is an emerging uranium development company with interests in South Africa. We have an opportunity for a Financial Controller to join this dynamic young company who owns one of the world's largest undeveloped uranium deposits and is in a position to grow significantly over the next 2 to 4 years.
 
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for:
·         The preparation of timely internal monthly costs reports and management accounts and external periodic financial reports
·         Developing and maintaining the internal financial control environment in both Australia and Africa
·         Weekly cash position reporting and treasury management Annual budgeting and periodic internal forecasting Oversight of payroll
·         Assisting with the preparation and finalisation of Australian and overseas tax returns
·         Liaison with external auditors, tax advisers and other accounting advisers
·         The management of internal accounting systems and, Involvement with the preparation and maintenance of key commercial contracts and operating business relationships
 
The ideal candidate will have experience within a junior to mid sized resources company in the financial reporting field. You will either possess Chartered Accountant or CPA qualifications. Ideally, you will have qualified with a large accounting firm and have spent time in the resources sector dealing with internal and external financial reporting matters with experience in Australian and Canadian accounting standards.
 
Regrettably, we are only able to consider people who have had prior mining industry experience, and are either Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents.
