Track Maintenance Planner

 
Fortescue Metals Group's rail network is currently the heaviest haul line in the world with 15 GE Dash-9 locomotives and 816 purpose-built ore wagons currently operating under 40 tonne axle loads. Each train of 240 ore cars can carry up to 32,950 tonnes of iron ore and is approximately 2.7 kilometres long. It is the first large-scale railway development to be undertaken in the Pilbara in more than 40 years. Our existing operation is capable of transporting up to 55 million tonnes of ore each year.
 
All our rail positions are residential in Port Hedland as we believe that in pushing ourselves and setting the highest standards, we can unlock the potential of the Pilbara and pass these benefits through to the community in which we live and work.
 
Maintenance Planner (Track)
Port Hedland Residential role
·         Key to ensuring maintenance plans for FMG rail network are completed in a timely and cost effective manner
·         Develop and manage maintenance plans and schedules
·         Liaise with contractor staff on maintenance plans
·         Coordinate unplanned maintenance activities
·         Ensure maintenance planning program is updated
·         Prepare Monthly updates on program performance
·         Attend and chair planning meetings
·         Look at continuous improvement ideas for maintenance requirements
·         Must have relevant trade or tertiary qualifications
·         5 years proven experience in maintenance planning essential
·         Demonstrated exposure to the Rail industry required
·         Procurement knowledge/background an advantage
