Manager Forecasting

 
An opportunity exists for a Manager Forecasting based in our [Location] Office.  As Manager Forecasting, your will be primarily responsible for managing the [Employer] Operations’ revenue forecast function, and subsequent management reporting.  A pivotal role in Peabody’s Australian business, this position will also assist in the contract negotiation process to ensure compliance with corporate policies, maximisation of revenue from coal supply agreements (CSA), and ensure compliance with all contractual terms and conditions (T&C) of CSAs.  This will include:
·         Coordinating with operations, quality management, coal supply chain logistics, metallurgical/thermal marketing departments, and business unit/corporate accounting departments
·         Tracking commercial bids, assist with implementing preferred contract language, CSA approval status, and ensure compliance is met per corporate policy and objectives
·         Maintaining CSA master data relative to the Australian operations’ coal sales portfolio for accurate forecast consolidations
·         Consolidating and preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual Australian sales forecasts/budgets for metallurgical and thermal coal products
·         Performing detailed analyses of saleable coal products, domestic/seaborne shipping schedules, market risks/opportunities, hypothetical scenarios, etc.
·         Complete variance analyses against budget, prior market guidance, prior forecasts, actuals, etc.
 
To be successful in this role, you will possess the relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, economics or other relevant discipline. Your career spanning a minimum of 5 years, ideally within the coal industry, will provide you with the essential experience forecasting, benchmarking and accounting experience required. You will hold a proven track record in continuous improvement across planning and marketing functions, and be willing to work flexible work hours in order to complete periodic forecasts and accommodate international meetings. SAP experience is desirable.
