Why does the job exist?
Reporting directly to the Mine Surveyor, this position provides technical support and back up to mining production, engineering & geological functions.  You will assist the Mine Surveyor with surveys of the mining operations, calculate volume & production of mine plans, set out mine designs and maintain all survey instruments and equipment.

What skills and experience do you need?
As the successful applicant you will be a proactive communicator, with high level technical and computer skills, including familiarity with CAD programs and an understanding of survey and mine planning software.  You will be able to apply a proactive approach to problem solving and possess an energy and willingness to learn and take on responsibility.
