[Employer] is a dynamic junior iron ore producer, exporting 1 million tonnes of ore per annum from its [Mine] .  This is scheduled to grow to 6 million tonnes per annum by 2010 with additional export tonnage from its [Mine] . The Company has a strong pipeline of quality resource projects which will underpin rapid growth [Location] , backed up by an experienced and passionate team of mining professionals.
 
Due to recent growth and expansion, Atlas Iron is seeking a Mine Surveyor’s based at our new [Mine] Operations [Location] - . Reporting directly to the Registered Manager –[Mine] , this role offers an exciting opportunity to join a progressive company in which you can grow and develop your skills.  The role will be FIFO from [Location] on a 9/5 roster working closely with the Mine Surveying team at [Mine] Operations.
 
The primary purpose of this role is to provide survey services to the operation in a safe, accurate and timely manner in accordance with statutory regulations, contractual obligations, and company objectives.
 
Duties will include:
·         Assisting in the development and continuous improvement of survey procedures.
·         Enforcing safety policy and procedures.
·         To manage the site survey system outlined by the Senior Survey Coordinator – based at [Mine] Operations to ensure continuity of the data throughout all Atlas Iron sites
·         Motivate team to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency
·         Ensure that adequate supplies of survey consumables are available
·         Maintaining and ensuring all equipment is in good working order
·         Ensure good quality survey control networks are used and maintained.
·         Ensure compliance to the Mine Survey Code of Conduct.
·         Assist in the supervision of the Production Controllers and to provide training in survey tasks where appropriate.
 
Essential Criteria:
·         An Advanced Diploma or equivalent in Surveying
·         Two (2) to five (5) years previous mine surveying experience
·         Open Cut site based mining experience
 
Highly Desirable:
·         Mine Survey authorisation (Grade 2)
·         Trimble and Surpac experience
·         Experience in Mine Startup
