Manager (Safety & Training)

[Mine] has a vision to become one of the world’s safest, most efficient and socially responsible coal mine’s. An opportunity exists for a high calibre safety and training professional to join the management team and live that vision. 
 
This position will challenge a professional with a proven track record in safety and training management across a large mining operation. Reporting to the Senior Site Manager/SSE, your primary objective will be the strategic planning of Safety Health and Training across [Mine] including development and implementation of initiatives for continuous improvement to ensure best practise outcomes.
 
Your accountabilities will include providing expertise and advice to all levels of the operation; timely and accurate reporting of OH&S performance indicators to all stakeholders; and ensuring regular safety audits are conducted. In addition, you will be responsible for the statutory compliance of all safety and training related activities and systems. Your strong leadership and communication skills will enable you to develop and mentor the safety and training team.
 
To be successful in this role you will be a proactive and credible leader with a passion for safety & training and have extensive experience in a similar position, preferably within the mining industry. Relevant tertiary qualifications in occupational health, safety and training will be well regarded.
