Reporting to the Environment and Community Superintendent at our [Mine] in Central Queensland, your key responsibility will be to develop, manage and continuously improve the management systems that underpin the mine’s environmental and community performance.
 
In this position, you will provide advice and support to line managers, staff and employees to ensure that our commitments to environmental and social responsibility are included in the day to day consideration and strategic development of the mine.
 
Managing compliance with regulatory environmental requirements, [Employer] Standards and Mine Standards is imperative, along with identifying and managing community and other stakeholders’ expectations and relationships. Specifically, you will also be responsible for maintaining current environmental systems (including monitoring and reporting) the coordination of rehabilitation, contractor management,   and the implementation of the [Mine] Social Involvement Plan. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to assist in the ongoing development of [Mine] environmental management systems. 
 
Your background will include tertiary qualifications in Environmental Sciences or Engineering, and a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, enabling you to provide a high level of technical expertise and support to the operation. Proven experience in environmental management, a solid understanding of Environmental legislation and community liaison is essential, and your strong, influential communication skills will be vital in your continuous interaction with employees and contractors. Mining industry experience is highly desirable but not essential.
