Senior Environmental Advisor

[Employer] is engaged by [Company] to operate the [Mine] . This mine supplies coal to the adjacent power stations that provide power to South East Queensland. The project is located in a pleasant rural South East Queensland setting, [Location] .
 
[Mine] is currently seeking applications for a Senior Environmental Advisor.
 
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will be the lead environmental role on site, responsible for driving project excellence and continuous improvement in all areas of environmental management. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to influence employees at all levels and to use systems to drive changed behaviours and encourage ownership.
 
Your primary duty will be to ensure the entire project has the required knowledge, systems and support to conduct operations in a manner that enhances the environment without compromising the project’s legal compliance and ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System (EMS). Your knowledge of Queensland legislation in relation to coal mining will add further credence to your role, as will innovative and proactive problem solving skills and high personal performance standards. A relevant tertiary qualification is essential. Proficiency in MS Office is expected, as well as sound writing, reporting and mathematical/analytical principles.
