A reputable Queensland Coal Mine is chasing a qualified and experienced Coal Geologist to provide daily geological assistance to all pit operations (pre-strip, draglines and drill & blast).
 
This exciting opportunity would be ideal for someone looking for a residential, Monday-Friday lifestyle and to be home every night with their families.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist on site, you will be responsible for:
·         Identifying and assessing potential geological structures and geotechnical hazards
·         Monitor coal quality and liaise with coal quality geologists to ensure maximum coal yield
·         Provide reliable geological and geotechnical advice to planning team and operational personnel (highwall mapping and projections, updating geological models, reports for strip summaries).
·         Overall database management and validation
·         Computer modeling of data and seams, resource estimation, database maintenance and review
 
You should be a Degree Qualified Mine Geologist with 2-3 years experience in open cut coal mines, as well as having prior Vulcan software, modelling and estimation experience will be highly regarded.
 
Salaries will be commensurate with experience and be in the range of $95k - $120k + benefits. Salaries outside this range will be considered for exceptional candidates.
