Supply Service Technician

[Employer] mining operations [Location] are one of the largest in the world, shipping more than 120 Mtpa of iron ore. The heavy haulage rail system, the heaviest in the world, uses state of the art technology across all facets of the operation. [Location] . Position Synopsis
We currently have an opportunity for a team-spirited and safety conscious individual to contribute to the achievement of our production targets through the safe and efficient supply of equipment and materials to our customers.
 
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor and operating in compliance with the [Location] safety system, you will provide general stores services including:
·         Participating in safety activities including risk identification workshops, safety meetings and inspection routines;
·         Ensuring that purchased goods are received, unloaded and despatched in accordance with standard operating procedures;
·         Monitoring for any damaged, defective, short or oversupplied goods and acting accordingly;
·         Assisting with identifying, handling, storing and transporting dangerous goods with due regard to Government regulations;
·         Ensuring goods are transported in compliance with special transport arrangements;
·         Processing goods returned to the Warehouse
·         Assisting with ensuring that Warehouse equipment is in good repair and regularly serviced;
 
The work roster may comprise standard hours, a Monday-Friday day-shift position or a day/night shift rotation to provide a 24-hour service to our Customers.
 
Skills and Experience
To be considered, you need to have current ‘C’ and ‘HR’ class driver’s licences and a Forklift ticket. You must be computer literate, experienced in SAP, and able to demonstrate a methodical, systematic approach to work, coupled with a track record of operating effectively with limited supervision. Experience in warehousing is essential. A Dangerous Goods qualification and Senior First Aid training would be an advantage.
