We are coupled with one of Western Australia’s most recognized mining company’s that has an unrivalled reputation in many respects. They have an immediate requirement for a Chief Geologist seeking a fantastic lifestyle change, who wishes to further their career with a leading mining company whilst maintaining a top level salary.
 
The key function of this role will be to provide leadership and coordination to the geology team to ensure operational geological models are validated and maintained, and that the most up to date information is available to the planning staff. 
 
Within this role your key accountabilities will include the following: 
·         Ensuring the accurate updating and validation of the short term geological model to provide up to date interpretations of the ore body to planning staff. 
·         Formal reporting of reconciliation of the geological model against the actual in-ground or as built model on a monthly basis to the Technical Services Manager 
·         Provide to the Production Engineer and other stake holders forecasts based on the planned weekly excavation sequence & 3 Month Plan.   
·         Managing the in-pit sampling program to effectively and efficiently forecast and communicate to planning meetings any quality risks. 
·         Directing the survey department to pick up required pit data to allow the geological model to be updated as required.  
 
To be considered for this opportunity, it is pertinent that applicants can demonstrate the following: 
·         Tertiary qualifications in Geology 
·         A demonstrated background in management within a technical services team 
·         Proven experience as a Mine Geologist updating and maintaining geological models and databases 
·         Past exploration experience managing multiple rigs 
·         A team player with well developed interpersonal and communication skills 
·         A strong commitment to high HS&E workplace standards
