[Employer] is a fully integrated nickel business comprising mines, concentrators, a smelter and refinery, all located in Western Australia. [Employer] is the world’s third largest producer of nickel-in-concentrate.

Focussing on clear and effective leadership you will provide clear goal alignment, vision and direction for the complete HSEC function for the operation. Capable of influencing direction and acceptance you will be responsible for the delivery of strategies which support the Zero Harm philosophy. Working hand in hand with the broader Nickel West health, safety, environment and community function, you will operate across operational issues and at a strategic planning level.
 
With accountabilities ranging from the maintenance of ISO14001 accreditation, sustainable development, sprain and strain reduction programs to OEL initiatives, this role is diverse and broad, and of paramount importance to the operation.
 
You will have extensive experience in HSEC systems establishment and execution in a mining and minerals processing environment, with a genuine, deeply felt belief that Zero Harm is achievable through effective risk control and behaviour based safety systems. Ideally, your experience will have been gained in an operational leadership role. Qualifications in a technology, science or engineering related discipline would be well regarded as would qualifications in occupational health and safety or risk management.
 
To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate success in delivering leading practice HSEC outcomes that have resulted in improved performance and behaviour.
