Mining Services Superintendent

Fortescue Metals Group has the largest tenement holding in the Pilbara with over 4.5 billion tonnes of Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) Resources and 1.1 billion tonnes of JORC Reserves. Cloudbreak, our primary mine located in the Chichester Ranges about 150 kilometres north of Newman, achieved practical completion in July 2008. We are now optimising to 55 mta. This first stage of ore production is already "sold out" to major Chinese steel mills and we have long term relationships with these mills.
 
Fortescue's mine team is made up of a wide range of occupations, from engineers to administrators and operators to geologists. There are more than 1000 people of all ages and cultures living onsite and working on family-friendly rosters designed to help our people achieve a healthy balance between work and recreation. Fortescue insists on developing mining practices that promote the protection of our environment, cultural heritage and the safety of our workers. Mining Services Superintendent (FIFO 8/6 ex Perth)
Key to managing the Road Crew and ensuring the safe and effective management of road building and maintenance on site is:
·         Managing mine equipment fleet & personnel to reduce unit costs
·         Establishing close working relationships with key site stakeholders
·         Ensuring environmental/heritage issues are considered in operations
·         Strong safety focus and commitment
·         Controlling contract mining services to ensure accountability in achieving targets
·         Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines
·         Minimum 10 years experience in Mining Operations and/or Senior Engineering
·         Unrestricted Quarry Managers Ticket preferred
