Senior Dragline Engineer

Position Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to provide accurate and timely mine engineering services to production personnel to ensure maximum efficiency of multiple draglines.  This position will ensure draglines are utilised in a safe & efficient manner allowing for maximum removal of overburden in the most cost effective manner.  This will support the mine achieving its goals as a competitive and profitable operation.
 
Core Accountabilities:
·         Development of mine plans & schedules for dragline operations
·         Management of reconciliation systems
·         Mentor, supervise and support junior mine engineers and other technical staff
·         Development & implement production improvement programs to increase efficiency
·         Develop a high performance culture within the section through strong leadership including appropriate communication, delegation, coaching and managing performance.
·         Create a positive HSEC culture of participation, personal responsibility and daily improvement
·         Respond promptly to HSEC concerns and issues
·         Review & monitor budgets, and where necessary direct the operating team activities to improve operating practices to realign with the development budget
 
Position Requirements:
·         Relevant tertiary qualifications
·         Strong experience in open cut coal mining
·         Experience with production planning at dragline operations
·         Experience in driving best practise through and a track record in driving continuous improvement
·         Proficiency with mine planning software packages
