My client is a world class designer and manufacturer of oil water separators, oil skimmers, and vehicle washwater-reclaim systems who service the Australian Mining, Oil, Gas, Transport and Manufacturing sectors. Due to consistent market growth and demand they are currently seeking to appoint a business development professional to join their team and capitalise on the boom in the mining sector.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Research market to identify projects current and planned
  • Lead generation activities
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities
  • Product presentations and demonstrations
  • Negotiation of orders and contracts in line with company objectives
  • Regular travel throughout the region
  • Maintain CRM system
  • Management of existing customer relationships
  • Manage live tender / sales proposals in conjunction with applications & proposals team
  • Work closely with engineering and design teams at head office
To be considered for this role it is expected that you:
  • Have mechanical engineering qualifications
  • Previous experience in capital equipment / filtration or separation equipment
  • Previous experience developing new business in the mining, oil & gas sector
  • Have a proactive sales approach and the ability to win large orders
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Willingness to travel up to 2 weeks per month
