We are looking for an Asset Manager (subsurface) to join a prestigious, mid-size oil and gas operating company based in Brisbane.

The company has an impressive acreage position, both exploration and production assets and has interests in conventional oil and gas as well as shale gas and coal seam gas. The role of Asset Manager (Subsurface) will be responsible for the strategic leadership and coordination of the technical and commercial effort to maximize the value of the companies producing fields. In this role, you will take responsibility for the overall performance of fields and the implementation of productions optimizations strategies, including consultation and risk mitigation. Strategic knowledge and experience in EOR and production optimization practices is critical.

Responsibilities will include;
Prepare and present development plans and associated budgets.
Manage a multi-disciplinary team of subsurface professionals.
Ensure that suitable model(s) are built and maintained to provide an appropriate means of managing developments, forecasting future production and continuously updating recoverable reserves.
Monitor the economic value of the field and understand the impacts of all the commercial contracts.
Advise management on the potential for further economic development of the fields.
Identify and implement appropriate technologies for the efficient and effective operation of the field.
Keep relevant parties fully informed of all reservoir, petroleum engineering and geoscience issues and concerns.
Ensure appropriate procedures and resources are in place for development planning, implementation, commissioning and handover.
Keep abreast of technologies with regard to field development.

Suitable applicants will have;
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Reservoir or Petroleum Engineering, preferably within an operating company.
  • A thorough understanding of sub-surface developments including: 
  • all aspects of oil and gas field development and production; 
  • technical skill and knowledge of field development planning, development activities and production optimization to achieve maximum performance of the field; 
  • a working knowledge of reservoir modelling techniques; 
  • drilling and production operations; 
  • hydrocarbon processing and accounting systems.
  • Sound knowledge of Artificial Lift and EOR techniques and proven success in leading production optimization projects.
  • Able to organise and manage technical and commercial teams effectively.
  • A salary band of $230,000 - $250,000 is available for this role depending on skills and experience.
