Our client, one of the largest mining companies in the world has a current requirement for a Mining Engineer at one of their leading iron ore mining operations in [Location]. Reporting to the Superintendent, Mine Planning your core functionalities will encompass the following:
· Medium term planning for the open cut operation.
· Working within a team of engineers and providing mentoring to junior employees.
· Providing technical advice to other departments at the site.
This role would ideally suit a Mining Engineer with the following background:
· Tertiary qualifications in Mine Engineering or related discipline.
· 3 years experience in open cut mining.
· Leadership attributes with the ability to mentor others.
· Exposure to Surpac/Vulcan software will be highly regarded however is not essential
· Excellent communication skills.
