Our client is a technologically-driven engineering-project house serving the mining and mineral processing industry worldwide. With fully functional engineering and project management offices in[Location] , and offices in Asia and the Americas, they are involved in highly innovative projects throughout the entire project life cycle. The Opportunity:
This company is involved in approx 7 major base metal projects abroad and locally, and work is progressing on a number of new major projects. Our client therefore has a pressing requirement for a Mechanical Engineer at Mid to Senior level to provide engineering expertise in relation to mechanical design engineering.
You will:
· Deliver mechanical engineering design according to required project timeframes and standards by supervising the performance of mechanical engineers on projects, reviewing deliverables and providing high level technical expertise.
· Coordinate the delivery of multidiscipline engineering design by communicating with engineers from all disciplines to ensure design will be delivered according to budget and schedule.
· At Senior or Lead level, contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of mechanical engineering by managing the man hour budget and reviewing and approving mechanical capital cost estimates, recommending alternative approaches where possible.
· Develop the company's capability in relation to mechanical engineering by training and mentoring mechanical engineers at all levels and educating engineers from other disciplines.
· Contribute to engineering best practice by interfacing with engineers from other disciplines to review and improve design standards and procedures.
· Enable the company to remain innovative in the provision of projects involving mechanical engineering by keeping abreast of industry developments and exploring the utility of new approaches.
