EQUINOX MINERALS LIMITED Friday, July 03, 2009 Equinox Minerals announced its preliminary production statistics for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 (“Q2-2009”) from its Lumwana Copper Project in Zambia. During this period, the Lumwana mine was still in the ramp up phase for both the mine and process plant operations. The total Mineral Resource has increased by 37% from 479 million tonnes grading 37.3% magnetite reported on September 27, 2006 to 654.4 million tonnes grading 36.5% magnetite. Friday, July 03, 2009 Emergent Resources Limited has entered into a commercial inconfidence non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with China Metallurgical Investment Co Ltd, a State Owned Enterprise in the Peoples Republic of China for the development of the Emergent’s Beyondie Iron Project in Western Australia’s midwest iron ore region. The MOU provides for the establishment of 50:50 Development Joint Venture and for the provision of AUD$200 million funding for the Beyondie Magnetite Iron Project, subject to a satisfactory due diligence and completion contracts, to achieve the commencement of mining operations with an initial targeted production of 3Mtpa of magnetite concentrate. The company plans to develop the project into a long life, large scale, high grade magnetite concentrate mining operation, and has the right to earn up to an 80% interest in the project by way of a joint venture with De Grey Mining Limited.
